Philanthropy
Our mission is to build better men. Philanthropy is one of the many ways we are able to succeed in accomplishing that mission.
Perhaps one of the most positive and fulfilling means of developing the character of each and every one of our members is through service to our community and our campus. Here at the Omega Chapter, we strive to instill a sense of desire to help those in need around us. Whether it be through participation in a campus sorority philanthropy event, our participation in, and philanthropic events dedicated to, the local Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta, or our members’ personal involvement in a variety of other opportunities, every member of the Omega Chapter is actively involved in making this world a better place for all. In fact, one of the basic requirements of each of our members is the involvement in a minimum of eight service/philanthropy hours each semester. Not only does this encourage positive regard for helping others, it also serves to foster a healthier relationship with the other fraternities and sororities on Georgia Tech’s campus via active involvement in their events. While some places may not expect their New Members to live up to the same expectations as their brothers, the Omega Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity pushes for even greater philanthropic participation amongst its New Members, requiring a minimum of 10 service/philanthropy hours from them throughout their New Member educational period.

Our Philanthropy
Our National Philanthropy
Like most other Greek organizations, all chapters of the Chi Phi Fraternity recognize and support one philanthropic organization with each of their fundraisers and events. Since 2004, at its 139th National Congress, the Chi Phi Fraternity has been closely entwined with the Boys and Girls Club of America (BCGA), working to develop tight-knit bonds between each of its chapters and their local BCGA Club. While there are thousands of other organizations to choose from, none have a defining ideology more closely related to that of the Chi Phi Fraternity. The Boys and Girls Club of America defines its mission statement as the following:
“To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
This mission statement, along with the five core programming areas of the BCGA (character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, fitness and recreation), is a huge part of why the partnership between our national fraternity and the BCGA is so successful every year. On top of all of this, the Boys and Girls Club of America is centered right here in our very own city of Atlanta, Georgia, making it incredibly important and special to our Omega Chapter.
Our Chapter Philanthropy
Each year, the Omega Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity makes an active effort to show its support for our local BCGA Club, as well as many of the other Greek organization events occurring all across campus. On top of all of this, we also show our support for national efforts such as those of the St. Baldrick’s annual campaign for children’s cancer research, Relay for Life, Georgia Tech’s “For the Kids Dance Marathon”, Alpha Phi’s “King of Hearts”, Trees Atlanta, Atlanta Humane Society, and more. While our chapter participates in many events, we often host our own, from philanthropy mixers with other sororities to our new “Chi Factor”, a talent show where all proceeds go towards a chosen local philanthropic organization.
